Intentions for the Changing of the Seasons

Happy Equinox to you! The shifting of the seasons is upon us, and I feel excited and a bit nervous about this transition. I've spent the last 12 years in California's more sunny and temperate climate, and I'm now gearing myself up for a colder and less sunny fall and a more snowy and severe winter.

Growing up in the Northeast in the US, I know so well that this time of year can mean my creativity delightfully bubbles over, or depression can slowly creep its tendrils around my body and heart. So, I feel determined to do my best to foster bubbling creativity, embodied pleasure, and practices of rest, love, and care for my body throughout the changes in season.

My intention for this Equinox is to take time to prepare myself for the change in day length and climate. Hello, Autumn fashion and new sexy boots! I'm dedicating this fall to courting my creative self in all the ways I feel delighted by. I'm hitting up the second hand stores to create my cozy wardrobe, making time for my embodied pleasure practices, visiting local art stores, creating artistic space in my house, seeing what trails and waterfalls I want to visit, and going to art museums. I'm curious where these practices will take me and what emerges with these intentions!

What about you? What do you do with the changing seasons, especially if you live in the northern hemisphere? What helps with the shortening of day length?

If you need a little support with this, especially with developing or deepening a pleasure practice, check out my online course, Revitalizing Your Self-Pleasure Practice. This course offers practices and rituals to connect to your body and pleasure from the comfort of your own home.

Wishing you the best through all the transitions,

River
